Her Mermaid in the Cooler

When my Dad retired from the Air Force in 1988 we took a long family vacation up and down the eastern coast of the United States. My sister, age 11 at the time, at some point leaned over the ice chest that separated us in the back seat and whispered to me, the big 15-yr-old, "There are mermaids in the cooler." Both of us found it rather amusing the rest of the trip and still mention it to this day.
